Tarner World Festival – CANCELLED!!


Tarner World Festival is due to take place on Saturday 12th September, 12-4pm on Richmond Parade.

Please see attached the Tarner Festival 2015 Booking Form for all Stall holders, performers and activities. Also attached is the Tarner World Festival Poster 2015 for distribution.

This year we aim to have a much more diverse range of activities for the whole family, sooooo get involved!

Community Health Fund Available

Funding is available for community groups who have an impact on health and well-being.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to community groups (who have an annual income up to £35,000) working on health improvement projects. A few examples of things funded in the past include:

-Community festivals with a health and wellbeing focus
-Singing groups
-Serving healthy food in a group
-Weekly drop in group for transgender/gender questioning people to meet and subsidies for monthly meet and eat socials
-Exercise classes for women from BME communities
-Weekly meet ups and social events for specific communities

And lots more.

As well as the usual criteria, this round there is a particular emphasis on supporting older people’s projects to promote health and well-being – such as physical activities, intergenerational work and projects around food and healthy eating.

The next deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 17th July 2015 – this is through Sussex Community Foundation who are managing the grant giving process.
